Southern Point Staffing has a career opportunity for a CNC Machinist!
A Day in the life of a CNC machinist: As a Machinist you will need to set up the CNC router for the orders of the day. This involves loading the appropriate cutting tools, securing the material to be machined, and inputting the necessary programming code into the CNC control panel. You will also do saftey checks and maintence on your machine.After each run checking for quality of products being produced. The biggest things for this career is saftey, accuracy and self-motovation!
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Proficiency in operating CNC machinery, including knowledge of programming and setup procedures.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and materials, with a focus on cabinetry construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision, ensuring high-quality output.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Set up and operate CNC machinery to fabricate cabinetry components, including cutting, shaping, and drilling.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality in cabinetry manufacturing.
- Operate a sit-down forklift sparingly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or training in CNC machining or cabinetry manufacturing.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machinery.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift sparingly.
Schedule and Compensation:
- $14-$18 hr, pay increase once hired on, pay based on experience
- Schedule: Mon-Thurs 10 hr shifts can use Friday as a makeup shift.
