Job Description
Southern Point Staffing is hiring for an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Sylvester GA.
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician in our peanut processing facility, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery critical to the processing, roasting, shelling, and packaging of peanuts. Your expertise will ensure minimal downtime, optimal equipment performance, and compliance with food safety regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on peanut processing equipment, including shellers, dryers, conveyors, roasters, and sorting machines.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in processing systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce machine wear and improve operational efficiency.
Inspect and replace worn or damaged components, such as bearings, belts, motors, and seals.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, FSMA).
Assist in the installation and calibration of new processing equipment.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, including parts inventory and completed repairs.
Respond to emergency breakdowns, including after-hours or weekend work as needed.
Qualifications:
1+ years of industrial maintenance experience (preferably in food processing or agricultural facilities).
Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of peanut processing equipment and food safety protocols.
Understanding of OSHA safety standards and experience working in a food-grade environment.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production teams.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
Strong work ethic and commitment to quality work
Physical fit and able to repeatedly lift 50lbs.
Heavy Equipment experience is not required but is heavily encouraged.
open schedule to be "on call" during season
Schedule and Compensation:
Monday – Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Above is the standard schedule, employees are required to stay until job is complete. Saturdays can be manitory during season
$18/hr Tem to Hire
