Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Summary:
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician in our peanut processing facility, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery critical to the processing, roasting, shelling, and packaging of peanuts. Your expertise will ensure minimal downtime, optimal equipment performance, and compliance with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on peanut processing equipment, including shellers, dryers, conveyors, roasters, and sorting machines.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in processing systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce machine wear and improve operational efficiency.
Inspect and replace worn or damaged components, such as bearings, belts, motors, and seals.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, FSMA).
Assist in the installation and calibration of new processing equipment.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, including parts inventory and completed repairs.
Respond to emergency breakdowns, including after-hours or weekend work as needed.Qualifications: 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience (preferably in food processing or agricultural facilities).
Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of peanut processing equipment and food safety protocols.
Understanding of OSHA safety standards and experience working in a food-grade environment. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production teams.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot, dusty environments typical of peanut processing plants.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
Willingness to work in varying temperatures and conditions.This role is critical to ensuring efficient peanut processing operations and minimizing production downtime.
