Job Title: Sample Collector
Position Overview
The Sample Collector is responsible for performing quality checks and measurements on finished paper products in a clean, non-hazardous, dry laboratory environment. This role involves collecting product samples from the warehouse, transporting them without damage, and accurately recording quality data. Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Collect finished product samples from the warehouse according to established sample-pulling methods
Transport samples carefully to designated destinations while maintaining sample integrity
Operate a golf cart safely to transport samples
Perform quality assessments and measurements on finished paper products
Accurately record data on worksheets in a neat, organized, and presentable manner
Follow all written and verbal instructions related to quality and safety procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Work Schedule & Environment
Schedule: 8hrs Monday-Friday
Shift Options: Day and night rotations available; some positions offer straight night shifts
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Environment: Clean, dry, non-hazardous lab and warehouse setting
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing and walking
Approximately a 5–10 minute walk from the parking lot to the work area
Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching
Ability to step up and down on powered equipment
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds
PPE: Steel-toed work shoes required
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience/training)
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, and ruler measurements
Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
Strong organizational and communication skills
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn custom data entry systems
Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment
Additional Requirements
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Must be available to work most holidays if scheduled
Occasional overtime opportunities available
