Southern Point Staffing has a career opportunity for a Carpenter in the Albany, GA area!A Day in the Life of a Carpenter As a Carpenter, you will work on various job sites, requiring some travel. You will be part of a small construction team, occasionally interacting with clients. The work primarily involves finished carpentry and renovations, often on high-value projects that demand expertise, professionalism, and a commitment to growth within the company. Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, sanding, cutting, and shaping materials.
Work in small spaces as well as high areas, such as scaffolding and ladders.
Lift and carry materials weighing 50-80 lbs repeatedly.
Wear and maintain proper safety gear (PPE) at all times.
Primarily focus on finished carpentry, with potential expansion into other areas as needed.
Arrive on time and collaborate effectively with the team.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, as clients may be on-site for high-value projects.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within the company.
Communicate project progress, provide feedback, and document needs effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
5+ years of previous construction experience required.
Skilled in using various carpentry tools, both hand and power tools, with precision (e.g., reading a tape measure to 1/16").
Experience with framing, windows, doors, flooring, and roofing.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints for custom carpentry projects.
Strong understanding of safety compliance and the ability to implement feedback for improvement.
Must submit to a criminal background screening.
Schedule and Compensation:
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
Pay Increase: Available once hired permanently with the company.
Schedule: Typically Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (EST).
SPS offers supplemental health insurance to employees while on assignment.
