Southern Point Staffing has a career opportunity for a Tractor Operator at a Local Farm in Sylvester, GA!A Day in the Life of a Tractor Operator If you enjoy working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and being part of a small, hardworking team, this is the job for you! As a Tractor Operator, you will play an essential role in farm operations by driving tractors, assisting with planting and harvesting, and helping with daily loader operations. Your work will involve maintaining fields, transporting materials, and ensuring smooth farm operations—especially in the pecan groves. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable working in the elements, and wants to grow in an agriculture-based career. Responsibilities and Duties:
Operate a tractor with a large mower to maintain pecan groves.
Load and transport 50lb bags of seed as needed.
Occasionally move a pickup truck with an 8 to 12 ft open wood trailer.
Assist in daily loader operations to support farm activities.
Work as part of a team during planting and harvesting seasons to ensure efficient production.
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic, especially in hot weather conditions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous farm experience or familiarity with agricultural work is preferred.
Ability to safely operate a tractor and other farm equipment.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
Reliable transportation to and from the farm.
Strong teamwork, self-discipline, and motivation.
Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
Schedule and Compensation:
Pay: $12.00 per hour (with potential for a pay increase once hired on permanently).
Pay Frequency: Weekly.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST).
